Meeting Local Housing Need

Cynon Taf Community Housing Group is committed to helping Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council fulfil its objectives – not only in the provision of good quality housing services, but also in regeneration areas, the improvement of the local economy and the creation and support of sustainable communities.

We have also joined with the Local Authority to set up a Common Housing Register. You can see how this works on our Direct Application page.

Local Commitment

Cynon Taf Community Housing Group is a local organisation dedicated to supporting our communities. In particular:

we are committed to our local communities;
we are accessible to new and prospective tenants;
we are committed to providing an excellent housing service;
we are fully involved in the development of initiatives that support sustainable communities in which people want to live;
we are key employers in the area;
we are committed to equality of opportunity, professionalism and quality standards;
we boost the economy of the community by using the business services of local banks, solicitors, suppliers, accountants, caterers and local shops;
we are run by a local and voluntary autonomous Board. All those serving on the Board live, work or have connections within the community; none are paid for their work;
we work in a clearly defined valley area where a sense of community understanding is a key issue for local people
as a provider of social housing to the community since 1978, we are dedicated to providing the best quality accommodation possible, through small-scale developments, sensitive to local needs and requirements.

This work is important to us. The support we provide to other organisations helps solve many of the communities’ problems. Support is provided in a number of ways, by direct financial assistance, professional expertise and management services, or the provision of accommodation.

In some cases we have representatives from our Management Team on their Boards or Committees so that our expertise and support can be easily accessed.
